Under the Himalayan Sky · 2027
A journey through stars, silence, restorative sleep and the flavours of Ladakh.
Some journeys show you the world. This one gives you the space to rediscover your place within it.
Six days. Two extraordinary nights beneath the Himalayan sky. A culinary journey rooted in Ladakh. And time to simply be — thoughtfully hosted, deeply personal and designed for travellers who believe the greatest luxury is the freedom to slow down.

Two nights
guided by an astronomy specialist in Nubra Valley
The experience
In Ladakh, the mountains invite a slower rhythm. We begin gently in Leh, allowing time to rest and adjust to the altitude. From there, we travel into the dramatic landscapes of Nubra Valley, where two evenings are devoted to discovering the night sky.
Guided telescope observation, celestial storytelling and night-sky photography, subject to weather and visibility.
Regional food traditions, chef-led dining, warm hospitality and thoughtful nourishment throughout the journey.
Restful pacing, gentle optional wellbeing sessions and protected time for sleep and recovery.
Moments of reflection and quiet that encourage a fresh sense of perspective without prescribing how you should feel.
Why September?
Our departure is planned around the late-September new-moon period, when darker skies can favour astronomy. The mountain weather remains unpredictable, and every sky experience is adapted to the conditions on the night.
An intimate gathering
A maximum of 12 guests creates room for individual attention, meaningful conversation and an unhurried pace. Travel is arranged with private group logistics and attentive local hosts.

The Himalayan table
A place is often remembered through its flavours. Our culinary programme celebrates Ladakh with generosity, context and care — from comforting regional meals to beautifully composed dinners.
Discover barley-based preparations, traditional soups, local vegetables, apricots and the stories behind them, interpreted according to seasonal availability.
Meet local culinary voices through a guided tasting or cooking conversation, celebrating knowledge passed through families and communities.
A special dinner in Nubra brings together attentive service, carefully planned warmth, regional flavours and the extraordinary setting of the mountains.
Meals are satisfying rather than restrictive, with regular hydration opportunities, flexible portions and advance planning for vegetarian and other notified dietary needs.
The village
The mountains are not only a view. Alongside the sky and the table, our programme includes time with Ladakhi households and craftspeople — the people whose knowledge, food and hospitality make life possible here. These visits are arranged in advance with the hosts themselves, and remain part of your programme rather than an optional extra.
You are welcomed into a Ladakhi household as a guest, not an audience. The visit is arranged with the family's own agreement, at a pace that suits their day rather than a fixed tour timetable.
Hosts share the skills that make life possible at altitude — barley and butter tea, apricots drying in the sun, wool and stitching, the small repairs that keep a home warm through winter. What you see depends on the season and what the household is doing that week.
A simple homemade meal or a cup of butter tea is often where the visit settles. A local host helps translate and frame the conversation, so nobody is left watching from the outside.
Photographs are taken only where the household is comfortable, and groups stay small enough that a home does not feel crowded. Where a visit would intrude on privacy, prayer or a family's own commitments, it is changed or dropped.

Hosted locally
village visits arranged with the households themselves
Our astronomy host introduces the sky in accessible language. No prior knowledge is needed. You may look through a telescope, learn how to recognise celestial features, try night photography or simply enjoy the silence. Sessions take place only when conditions are safe and suitable.
This is not a medical treatment, detox or intensive yoga retreat. Rest, comfortable sleep, calm conversation and optional gentle reflection form the wellbeing experience. Participation is always your choice.
